Phoenix Rising Malibu (“we”, “us”) runs phoenix-rising-malibu.com, a personal journal about rebuilding our home and landscape after the 2018 Woolsey Fire. This page explains what information the site collects and how it is used.

We do not run advertising, we do not sell personal information, and the site has no accounts, comments or sign-up forms. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us by email.

If you click the Email link in the footer, your own email app opens with a message addressed to our contact address. We only receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you and do not share it or add you to any list.

Like most websites, our servers and our content delivery provider process technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you request and the time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand overall traffic.

• Cloudflare provides our security, caching and content delivery, and privacy-focused traffic statistics.
• Our hosting provider stores the site and its server logs.
• jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) delivers a JavaScript library used for page animation, so it receives your IP address when the page loads.

The Media page includes a YouTube video. When you load it, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect information about your visit, under Google’s privacy policy. The Media page is the only place where this happens.

The site links to other websites, including Facebook and Instagram. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

The site itself does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Cookies may be set by third parties described above, such as YouTube on the Media page.

You can email us to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it. If you live in California or another region with privacy laws, you may have additional rights, including to know, delete and correct personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
